The Art of Making Maps
Cartography is the study of making maps. Accuracy is the greatest concern of a cartographer. First, the map maker must decide what to show on the map. For example, he can focus on geographic areas including roads and forests, or political boundaries or even population size. One problem for cartographers is how to represent as accurately as possible a round earth on a flat surface.
