Reading Assessment in Schools

Researchers assessed 5th grade children in three different schools in order to establish whether the children were reading at their grade level. The purpose of this assessment was to identify which children required additional assistance. The researchers' results showed that in two of the schools the level of reading ability was above average and in one school it was below average. The assessment also enabled the researchers to identify which schools required extra resources to help children read at their grade level.
