Discrimination Against Women
In most Western countries today, women and men have equal rights and equal opportunities. These rights are protected by the law, and discrimination against women is illegal. However, in some countries led by extremely religious rulers, women are often discriminated against and not allowed to do the same things as men. In these countries, girls may not be allowed to go to school or learn to drive a car. In many cases, fathers can decide who their daughters marry, and at what age.
Why do you think that women are discriminated against in some extremely religious countries? Choose 2 correct answers.
