Does Your Brain Have A Music Center?

The human brain is divided into two hemispheres. The right hemisphere has been traditionally identified as the center of our ability to perceive music. However, no one has found a "music center" there, or anywhere else. More recent studies of musical understanding in people who have damage to either hemisphere and studies of brain scans of people taken while they listened to songs, show that our ability to perceive music emerges from the interaction of activity in both sides of the brain.
