Even Experts Can Make Mistakes

An expert witness is someone who, because of his or her education, training, skill, or experience, is believed to have much more knowledge than an average person about a particular subject. Expert witnesses are often asked to give their opinions in a court of law on questions related to their area of expertise. However, sometimes experts base their opinions on personal experience as well as on their "gut feelings" - so even experts can sometimes be wrong! This is why not all the judges and lawyers in the court will automatically accept the expert's opinions.
