Before you buy a new product that comes with a guarantee, always read the guarantee very carefully to see which conditions the guarantee does not cover. Conditions that are not covered by the guarantee often appear in very small print!

A Very Sad Story
I recently bought a new computer. The shop that sold me the computer assured me that it was the most up-to-date and reliable model. They also said it had the best protection against all computer viruses, old and new. They gave me a one-year guarantee.
One week later the computer broke down. I couldn’t switch it on and some of the buttons fell off the keyboard. I managed to fix it, but then it was attacked by a computer virus which destroyed all my work. I had the computer "cleaned" and then two weeks later I had a fire and the computer was destroyed completely.
