Some researchers analysed classroom interactions to identify which types of teacher-student interactions characterize teachers whose students do well at school. These studies found that three types of teacher-student interactions differentiate teachers whose students get high scores on tests from teachers whose students get lower scores on tests. These interactions include (1) the teacher's attempts to motivate students, (2) giving students summaries at the end of the lesson to help them remember what is important and (3) interactions that increase students' active participation in the lesson.
