How Young People Become Marginalized
One major problem in urban areas is a growing number of marginalized youth. Marginalized youth share a number of common features: They don't succeed in school, they find that school is an unpleasant experience, and they can't see any connection between schooling and getting a job. The best way to solve this problem is to develop programs that combine paid work with an educational program that helps these students succeed academically, and motivates them to stay in school.
