Maslow's Theory of Motivation
Maslow's theory of motivation claims that human beings are motivated or driven by unsatisfied needs. According to Maslow, there are specific basic needs called “;deficiency needs”;, such as survival and safety. These basic needs can be seen as the bottom layers of a pyramid. These needs must be satisfied before a person can act unselfishly and move towards fulfilling less basic needs. These less basic needs, such as increasing self-esteem and personal growth, can be seen as higher layers on Maslow's pyramid.
