overlap

Overlap means that two things partly 'cover' each other because some parts of these two things occupy the same space or time.

Overlap can be used as both a verb and a noun. In this exercise it is used as a verb.

For example:

I have two courses which overlap this semester - the first course ends an hour after the second course starts.
