Read this paragraph and answer the question below.

Teaching for Transfer

Cognitive psychologists describe transfer of learning as connecting what we learn or what we know to other settings and contexts. According to some researchers, getting students to connect or apply the skills and concepts they learn in class to other topics may be one of the most important goals of education. However, research shows that transfer of learning may not occur if the two contexts are very different. Consequently, one of the most important aspects of the teacher's role is teaching students to ask themselves where else or how else ideas, concepts and skills learned in one context can also be applied in additional contexts.

What are the main ideas of this paragraph? Choose the 3 correct answers.

Students should learn to ask themselves how things they have learned in one context can also apply to other contexts.

Transfer of learning does not happen automatically - teachers have to teach students how to transfer what they have learned.

Teachers should teach students how to apply ideas and skills that they learn in one context to additional contexts.

Teachers should teach students ideas, skills and concepts.
